COURSE DESCRIPTION

The independent study program at CodaKid takes the tools that we’ve learned throughout the entire program and shows the student how to utilize them to create their own custom games. The program involves connecting students with one of our most senior engineers in a mentorship capacity to assist in working through the process of ideating, researching, planning, and creating custom games. Initially, students will be creating custom 2D games.

We dive into how to set up a GitHub repository, how to research and find code solutions using forums such as StackOverflow, and how to become independent software developers.

Upon successful completion of Mastering 2D Game Development, students can move on to 3D Game Development with Independent Study 2
